Dina Martinez Lombardy has been an Autism Consultant,
Transition Specialist, Mental Health Professional and Educator for over 15 years. She also served as a Social Worker for over 6 years. Her passion and life's mission is to help families with special needs children and youth navigate the different transitions in their lives.
Her journey started as an Educator for a public school system where she saw firsthand the challenges children and youth with special needs faced both academically and socially. Her path then took her in another direction working as a Community Case Manager for families who had faced trauma and mental health challenges due to refugee resettlement and war. Many of those children also had special need challenges. She started working with children and youth with developmental disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders as a Senior Case Manager, Transition Specialist and Transition Program Coordinator.
She holds a Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology and Child and Adolescent Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University and is a a Qualified Mental Health Professional and a Certified Early Intervention Case Manager.
She received training with the Houlton Institute under an Autism Speaks partnership on secondary transition to adulthood and has been a speaker at a number of groups and conferences regarding Autism Spectrum Disorders, Refugee and Immigrant challenges, Transition for youth with special needs and Mental Health topics.
In addition, she forms part of area advocacy groups and councils for children and youth with special needs and is fully bilingual in Spanish.
Ms. Martinez Lombardy has formed part of state coalitions, transition councils and school projects which actively advocated at developing appropriate services for children and youth with special needs at a state level to create positive policy changes
